All the ingredients including the whiskey gives the smoked ribs an unusual flavor. These ribs are slow cooked until the meat comes off the bone. Get your ingredients together and set your smoker and just follow the easy recipe.

  • 1 rack baby back ribs
  • Marinade
  • 0.50 cup whiskey
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp minced onion
  1. Combine all the marinade ingredients in a bowl and leave aside.
  2. Take out the membrane from the backside of the ribs.
  3. Place the ribs in a Ziploc bag.
  4. Pour the marinade into the bag with ribs.
  5. Toss the bag well and leave in the refrigerator for 3 hours to marinate.
  6. After 3 hours discard the marinade.
  7. Take out the ribs from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature.
  8. Set the smoker to a temperature of 250F.
  9. Place the ribs on the smoker and cover with lid.
  10. Flip once after a few hours.
  11. Leave in the smoker for 6 hours.
  12. Remove from the smoker when a thermometer reads about 195F.

Asian Styled Creamy Smoked Ribs

The most juicy and tender smoked pork ribs made with apple juice, butter, honey and brown sugar. This will be your family’s pick for a weekend get-away. You can be certain that there will be no regrets.

  • 1 rack St Louis-style pork ribs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup rib rub
  • 1/4 cup apple juice (in a spray bottle)
  • 1/2 cup butter, sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1-2 cups BBQ sauce
  1. Remove the membrane from the ribs.
  2. Rub olive oil on the ribs.
  3. Liberally apply the rub on all sides of the ribs.
  4. Preheat the smoker and set the temperature to 225F.
  5. Place the ribs on the smoker.
  6. At one hour and two hours intervals baste the ribs with apple juice.
  7. After completion of 3 hours remove the ribs.
  8. Apply brown sugar, butter and honey on the ribs.
  9. Wrap the ribs in foil and place on the smoker with meat side facing downwards.
  10. Leave once again on the smoker for 2 hours.
  11. Remove from the foil and leave on the smoker for one more hour.
  12. During the last 20 minutes of cooking apply the BBQ sauce.
  13. Remove from the smoker when the temperature reaches 195F.

Jack Daniels Baby Back Ribs

The recipe is slow cooked on the smoker and can’t be rushed, but the results are so worth it. Once cooked the ribs will fall off the bone tender with a smoky flavor. The ribs are spicy, sticky and sweet.

  • 1 large rack of baby back ribs membrane removed
  • 1 teaspoon each of kosher or sea salt,
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of ground mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.50 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoon dark brown sugar

Mop Sauce

  • 2 tablespoon butter or vegetable oil
  • 0.50 cup chopped shallots
  • 0.25 teaspoon each of kosher or sea salt and fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon each minced garlic and minced ginger
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 3 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 0.50 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoon Jack Daniels
  1. Place all the rub ingredients in a bowl and combine.
  2. Brush the rub on all sides of the ribs.
  3. Place the ribs in a Ziploc bag and leave in the refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Preheat the smoker and add the wood chips or pellets.
  5. Place the marinated ribs directly on the smoker.
  6. Close the lid and cook for 2 ½ hours.
  7. Spritz with water and apple cider every 45 minutes.
  8. During the last ½ hour of cooking baste the ribs with the mop sauce.
  9. After completion of 2 ½ hours baste with the mop sauce once again.
  10. Wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and leave in the smoker for 1 ½ hours.
  11. After completion of 1 ½ hours take out the ribs from the foil.
  12. Slather mop sauce once again and leave for 1 hour.
  13. Slice and serve with the balance mop sauce.
  14. To prepare the Mop Sauce, place butter or oil in a saucepan and heat well.
  15. Toss in the shallots, salt and pepper and cook for 4 minutes until the shallots become soft.
  16. Stir in the ginger and garlic and combine well.
  17. Leave for another 3 minutes.
  18. Add the balance ingredients and bring to a boil.
  19. Lower the heat and cook for another 15 minutes.
  20. Allow the mixture to simmer and maintain the warmth.
  21. If you want to thicken the sauce combine cornstarch with a little water and add to the sauce.
